The great thing about the cereal diet is that you can have your pick of many types of cereals. Not only does the Special K family of cereals include a variety of options but you can alter the flavour by changing the type of add ins you use including fruit, raising and nuts.

The average cereal dieter loses about 5 lbs in two weeks which makes this a great springboard diet or a great way to pay pennance for a particularly bad few weeks of eating due to holidays.

Special K Diet Warning !

Beware of the fact that that this low calorie diet can leave you without energy if you don't eat enough. Be sure to be well hydrated through the two weeks and pay attention to hunger signals. Eat a decent dinner each day and don't forget to add fruit to your cereal as well as to snack with cereal bars, fruits and vegetables between meals. Consider taking a multivitamin as well.

You may also consider the Sacred Heart Soup Diet, The Calorie Shifting Diet and the Master Cleanse Diet as well. Those who are serial dieters may want to visit the Cereal Dieter for more information about the aforementioned diets along with and helpful tips about getting to and maintaining your ideal weight without sacrificing your health.

I love the Special K Diet and used to have a little "support group" type thing going about it, specifically, in the AbsoluteWrite.com watercooler. The support was awesome and we were meeting our goals. Thank you for this information!

Thanks Jenn. I do this one a few times a year when I need a 'kick' start, especially after Christmas.

Cheers,

Dana

Yes, that's exactly when I need that extra kick too! Should it be called Special Kick, rather than Special K? ::winks::

LOL. There have been several new flavours since I last did it. I bought the Special K Satisfaction last week but the box is going back as it contains artificial sweetener. I was very disappointed in that as this is a Sucralose and Aspartame-free house!

Maybe it will help me. I'm at a stand still with WW.

It's pretty effective moonlake and only 2 weeks for a jump start. I have also done Sacred Heart. More food to eat with sacred heart but more restrictive than a cereal diet.

Let me know what you think if you try it out.

This is not ahealthy way to lose weight.

Michael, not for a large amount of weight or a long time period, no....but: it can be a great jump start if you have a lot to lose or a help if you've only got 5lbs.

When we see immediate results it can definitely help us with longer term weight loss so losing 5lbs in two weeks can give you the motivation and confidence to continue your efforts with a healthy and balanced diet and exercise.

Thanks,

Dana

Do you really get all the nutritional value u need daily from this diet?

Gina 2 years ago

I tried out the Special K diet for about a week because I got so sick of eating cereal every meal even though it is pretty good. How does anyone stick with this diet without craving anything else?

Dana 2 years ago

I found that mixing it up worked out ok and sometimes I'd eat my regular meal for lunch and save cereal for night. Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables helped and using all their available varieties helped too. I imagine it'd be easier now as there are more flavours, too. It's definitely not a long term diet solution but can be a good jump start to lose a fast 5 pounds.

Thanks for the points shared using your blog. Something else I would like to talk about is that fat loss is not information on going on a fad diet and trying to reduce as much weight as possible in a couple of weeks. The most effective way to lose weight naturally is by acquiring it little by little and obeying some basic points which can allow you to make the most from a attempt to shed weight. You may be aware and already be following these tips, yet reinforcing information never affects.
